Originally trained at Glasgow School of Art, then the Royal College of Art, Sheila is an artist designer working in silver and vitreous enamel making pieces of jewellery and small silver objects using many different traditional enamelling techniques including cloisonne, bassetaille, plique a jour and painting enamel.
Drawing and painting has always been the starting point for her designs, aiming to create a piece of work which is true to the original sketches. The pieces she creates include traditional silversmithing and jewellery skills alongside engraving and carving of the metal to create recesses for the enamel. Working with transparent enamel allows her to add colour to her work and by adding fine gold and silver foil in the enamel she achieves a certain depth of colour and shimmer.
Bryony trained at Glasgow School of Art. For the past 20 years Bryony has specialised in the ancient silversmithing technique of Repousse and Chasing. Using pine pitch and a myriad of small steel punches Bryony fashions and forms functional silver sculptures with past commissions including objects for J K Rowling & HRH Princess Anne.
Originally trained at Sheffield College of Art (now Sheffield Hallam University) Linda has made a career as an independent studio jeweller working to commission for private clients and showing her work through galleries and craft fairs. Her jewellery is hand made in precious materials and she is conscious of working in the enduring tradition of artist craftsmen where hand skills and understanding of materials are passed down from one generation to the next.
Teaching and learning is a fascinating process, and she is committed to enabling students to work to a high standard gaining self confidence in design, technique and use of materials.
